Hugh has been around architecture for so long, writing about it and helping to set up the Stirling Prize, that eventually they had to make him an honorary fellow of the RIBA. He also writes for titles ranging from the Sunday Times to the Wall Street Journal, and has produced books such as Contemporary World Architecture, published by Phaidon. He lives in a house with 15 internal doors.

Passionately attached to places, Eleanor cut her architectural teeth at the Architects’ Journal while studying at night for a masters at the Bartlett. Not to be held back by his dubious Mediterraneano-Slavonik origins, Carlos gained his diploma in architecture at London’s Bartlett School, and qualified at Foster and Partners, working on City commercial projects. Architecture being a bad habit he just can’t kick, he still practises for half the week, the other half being spent at the RIBA J and freelancing for construction mags.

The launch editor of three travel magazines and a former health editor, Sara was tasked with relaunching and developing the RIBA J website and bringing the success of the magazine to the immediacy and interactivity of the web, with some writing thrown in for good measure. She holds a First Class humanities degree from Brunel University and is a medal winner for outstanding academic achievement.
