Curved Vehicle

These drawings – a sneak preview of his upcoming installation at Barbican’s Curve – are the cleanest look you will get at John Bock’s work. Normally the German artist’s installations are a mash up of construction, substance (beans and tomatoes, potions, eggs) and body; often his own.

The machine pictured, Curved-Vehicle, will travel between the vehicle docks of a noodle bar, clothes shop and second hand shop. The shops are a reference to plans for units in the space immediately above the Curve, Frobisher Crescent. Hanging from ceiling and walls will be other elements of the plug in city, plastics, fabrics, found materials and handmade elements. Expect ‘lectures’, film, movement and unpredictable spectacle.
