Live and kicking

Roll out the red pixel carpet for today is the day the brand new RIBA Journal website goes live.

Oh yes, architecture enthusiasts are now just a finger click away from an extremely slick, well designed and informative site – it’s a thing of beauty, if we do say so ourselves. It’s certainly more edgy, with more personality, but it’s still very much a work in progress so do bear with us.

The site’s launch coincides with the redesigned March issue of RIBA J and while the site will continue to borrow heavily from the magazine, there will be plenty of web exclusives to attract you online, including Unconsidered Trifles, which invites users to send in snaps of odd, pleasing little things which may, or may not, be architecture, exclusive behind-the-scenes features and footage, competitions, interviews, blogs from the editors, plus access to an extensive archive of riveting reads from our 116-year-old monthly title.

RIBA J editor, Hugh Pearman, will be ‘Twitterable’ on the site very soon (if microblogging is good enough for celebtwitties like Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross, it’s good enough for us). Also in the technology camp we have Facebook, the ever-popular site that aims to map our relationships in digital form. Join our Facebook group and be informed every time brand new content is uploaded to the site.
